Employee Spotlight: Get to know Ali Brockman

We are excited to introduce Ali Brockman as the newest addition to the PDS Planning team. Joining the planning team as a Client Service Specialist, Ali is enrolled at Franklin University and expected to graduate in May 2024.

Before joining PDS Planning, Ali worked in the education industry. She mastered organization and time management while handling a classroom of children. Ali decided that she wanted to make a career change, “I saw Rita Itsell posted this position on LinkedIn and was immediately drawn by the fellow Franklin University alum and decided to apply!”

At PDS, we are proud to have a diverse team of forward-thinking leaders, expert planners, and staff who approach our clients’ financial decisions the way we approach investing our own money. Learn more about Ali and the skills she brings to our organization.

Tell us what you do at PDS Planning

My work is currently focused on supporting the advisors and planning team. I prepare the paperwork related to account updates, as well as process money requests and ensuring clients complete onboarding forms to open custodial accounts. I’ve been with PDS Planning for about two months and I’m excited to start working with our clients more.

What personal qualities do you have that help you succeed in your role at PDS Planning?

My years in the classroom taught me organization and excellent time management skills— you could say that I love lists! I enjoy meeting new people, so I’m looking forward to working with our clients and getting to know them better.

Tell us about your family.

I currently live in New Albany with my boyfriend, Cole, and our one-year-old Aussie-Poodle mix, Tucker. While I was raised as an “only” child, I have three siblings: two older (by 10 and 12 years) and one younger (by 15 years). Because both of my older siblings have children, I’m proud to say that I’m the “cool aunt!”. Growing up, my mother ran a daycare out of our home; having early exposure to childcare instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility. My family is very close to me; my parents are my best friends, biggest supporters, and greatest inspiration.

When you are not working, how do you like to spend your free time?

When I’m not at PDS, you can find me at the dog park with my dog, Tucker, and my friends, who meet there every day after work. On weekends, we take our dog on adventures such as swimming and hiking. If I’m not outside, you’ll probably find me with my nose in a book. I enjoy teen romance novels; I recently finished It Ends With Us and am now working on the sequel, It Begins With Us.

Share your involvement with PDS Cares.

Although I have not yet been able to participate in PDS Cares, I intend to visit  Riverside Methodist Hospital in the coming months to make blankets for long-term care patients. In addition, the team and I plan to visit the Ronald McDonald House in October to volunteer making breakfast!
