30 Years, 30 Gifts: PEO Sisterhood – Program for Continuing Education

December 10, 2015

PDS CARES 30 Years, 30 Gifts has selected the PEO Sisterhood, nominated by Susan Cochran, as our week 28 donation recipient. Susan writes “PEO is a philanthropy that supports the advancement and education of women through scholarships, grants, and loans. PEO also owns and operates Cottey College in Nevada, MO. Cottey is a highly regarded women’s college that has recently transitioned from a two year associate program to a full four year degree program.”

Susan continues, “My mother was a member of PEO for almost sixty years and served in all of the chapter officer positions in our local chapter in Worthington OH. I was initiated in 1989 and have been an active member of the same chapter since that time. I would suggest making the PDS donation to the Program for Continuing Education which was a favorite of my mother.”

Susan’s husband, PDS Employee Bob Cochran added “The PEO Sisterhood is a national women’s organization that was founded to provide education opportunities to women who otherwise would not be able to attend a college. There are several local chapters of PEO, one of which Susan belongs to, and each chapter raises funds for scholarships locally.”

Bob also said, “Many scholarship grants are for mothers going back to school, single parents, etc. Hope this helps PDS to see the picture.”

PDS CARES does see the picture Bob, and is happy to support the PEO Sisterhood by making a donation to their Continuing Education Program.
