Shining a Spotlight on the PDS Planning Team
Since 1985, PDS Planning has sought to eliminate the stress often associated with financial planning. We understand that our work goes beyond business and has a personal impact on families and legacies. That’s why we are proud to have a team of forward-thinking leaders, expert planners, and staff who approach financial decisions the same way we approach investing our own money and work to create personal relationships along the way.
Throughout the past year, we have spotlighted a few of our team members to get to know each of them just a little bit better – discussing their roles at PDS, insight on the financial planning industry, and how they spend their time away from work.
A Wealth Manager for PDS Planning, Jimmy Rogers is both a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®). He works to help clients streamline their finances and make informed decisions by providing objective advice and ongoing communication. By doing so, he says, “they can spend more time on what is truly important and meaningful.” Alumni and a former football player for Princeton University, Jimmy says his favorite aspect of working for PDS is, “helping people identify the problems they need help with and in doing so, earning their trust.”
Client Relationship Manager Katie Warga credits both her colleagues and clients with making her job so enjoyable. “It’s nice to be around people with the same mindset and to be able to make a true difference in peoples’ lives.” She provides daily assistance with planning services and client communications, as well as trading and money movements. As for what the future of the financial planning industry looks like, Katie envisions an increasingly virtual environment. And she believes the technology and virtual connection will allow the team to “be more intentional about the time we spend with our clients and on nurturing the relationship.”
A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Charterholder, Kurt Brown is the Chief Investment Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and principal for PDS Planning, helping to navigate the economic landscape to make sound investment decisions for the firm’s clients and overseeing all compliance efforts to maintain the firm’s strong culture of compliance. Beginning his career with PDS as an Intern, Kurt worked his way to become a principal of the firm and notes, “I was very fortunate to find an incredible company with great people, great culture, and great clients.” Be sure to watch for Kurt’s monthly Market Commentary on the PDS Blog for the latest insight on the state of the industry.
Joining PDS Planning in February 2021, Client Relationship Manager, Noah Studenmund spends much of his time managing client information, scheduling, trading and money movement, and anything clients need help with on a day-to-day basis. One of the things that attracted Noah to PDS is the youth of the team. “We are definitely a younger firm,” he notes. As a result, he says, “I believe more forward-thinking than many firms.”
A Wealth Planner and Certified Financial Planner™, Laurie Licata values the relationships she has built with both her colleagues and clients over the years. On a day-to-day basis, Laurie works to address any questions or concerns her clients may have and enjoys the fact that every day is a little different. In addition to her work with clients, Laurie is actively involved with PDS Cares, noting “We are all involved and I think it is great that PDS gives each of us an allotment of funds that we can use to support any organization we would like.” Laurie also coordinates quarterly volunteer opportunities for the PDS team at Ronald McDonald House Charities.
