Summer always seems to go a little too quickly. As we settle into fall, we’re taking a moment to share what our team has been up to outside the office. Some celebrated big family milestones, while others made the most of familiar summer traditions. Whether traveling somewhere new or enjoying time close to home, there were plenty of memories worth holding onto.
Here’s a look back at summer, in our team’s own words.

Ali Niekamp
This summer was a pretty special one for our family. My husband, Cole, and I welcomed our baby boy, Parker David, on June 4. I spent most of the summer on maternity leave soaking up those first few months with him, and we’ve loved watching him grow and change so much already. It was a different kind of summer than we’ve had before, but one we’ll always cherish.

Alyssa Troyer
My family and I moved at the end of May and spent the summer getting settled into our new home. We celebrated Hadley turning three in July, then wrapped up summer with a family wedding in Iowa. Hadley was lovely as a flower girl, and Sullivan looked great in a suit.

Beth McCampbell
Most of our favorite summer activities happened close to home. We walked down to a local market for Saturday morning pancakes, set up the splash pad in our backyard, and visited the Columbus Zoo whenever we could. For the past two summers, we’ve also taken a trip to Hocking Hills with my husband’s family. The kids absolutely love hiking and playing in the pool, but getting to hang out with their cousins is a big part of the fun.

Diego Shaw
This summer revolved around World Cup soccer and planning our September wedding. The World Cup is easily my favorite sporting event, so I watched as many games as I could while Mikayla and I counted down to our big day. We got married on a beautiful late-summer day and celebrated with a honeymoon on the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire. I’d certainly say this was the best summer yet!

Drew Potosky
We had a family-filled summer. It started with the boys heading to a Clippers game, followed by welcoming a Lab puppy, Lucy. She is exactly what you’d expect in a puppy: sometimes fun and sometimes frustrating, but we love her all the same. She and Winnie became fast friends and keep each other busy. We also had a ton of fun celebrating Declan’s fourth birthday. I’ll bet you can’t guess the theme! May the force be with you.

Jamie Menges
Another typical Menges family summer: golf and basketball. Evan competed in a U.S. Open Final Qualifier alongside PGA Tour professionals Bud Cauley and Erik van Rooyen, earning high praise for how he carried himself. He also competed in the U.S. Junior Amateur, narrowly missing match play after a playoff. Caitlyn spent her summer playing basketball with Dublin Jerome and training for the upcoming season, while helping care for our newest family member, Charlie. We also celebrated our niece Madison’s wedding.
Terri and I have been soaking it all up, hoping to slow time down. I imagine someday we’ll be sitting in a wonderful café in Italy, just the two of us, wishing for another trip to a rainy golf course or hot gymnasium. What a great summer it was.

Jimmy Rogers
Our summer started with a trip to our nation’s capital and wrapped up with family in Maine, where our three oldest kids spent a week at Frontier Camp. On the drive home, we stopped for a couple of days in Saratoga Springs, New York, and visited Saratoga Race Course.
With four kids ranging from a baby to nine years old, “vacation” doesn’t always mean relaxing. Back home, we kept busy with pool days and the kids’ sports and camps. There was plenty of fun, plenty of activity, and not nearly enough sleep. We’re grateful for all the time we spent together.

Karl Lemke
Chloe and I visited Tennessee this summer and tackled a great hike in Great Smoky Mountains National Park: 11 miles with 3,200 feet of elevation gain. Despite the park’s large bear population, we didn’t see a single one in more than eight hours on the trail. Hiking is one of our favorite activities, and it’s always great to check another national park off the list.

Kurt Brown
The summers seem to go faster each year. When my wife was pregnant with our first child, a client told us, “The days are long, but the years are short.” It turns out they were exactly right. We can’t believe our kids are already nine and seven.
We’re trying our best to slow things down and make memories together. This summer included plenty of time by the water, from swim team to the lake and Cape Cod, with some golf mixed in along the way. We’re feeling very grateful for these days and trying to soak them all in while we can.

Laurie Licata
I spent a week in the Tuscany region of Italy before heading out on a weeklong Mediterranean cruise. I’m sharing a couple of photos from Venice and Cinque Terre.

Luke Babner
With the turn of the leaves comes a chance to reflect on the memories made. We dodged the torrential storm at the Memorial Tournament and spent some time decompressing on the beach with family. I fit in as much golf as I could, and we conquered the “Tour de UA,” biking to claim our spot at Upper Arlington’s Fourth of July parade. I’m grateful for an exceptional summer and excited for the year-end planning ahead here at PDS.

Rita Itsell
Our summer travels took us to Bozeman and Yellowstone National Park. While we were in Bozeman, Chris saw his first bear on our hiking trail.

Tad Herrington
Summer 2026 was one for the memory books. We enjoyed our annual family trip to Michigan and celebrated the Fourth of July with friends on Kelleys Island. Despite a rainy summer, we still managed to pack in plenty of adventures and pool days along the way.
We’re grateful for the time spent with the people who make these seasons so special. We hope your summer brought some moments worth looking back on, too, and we look forward to hearing about them the next time we catch up.
