About the Award
Each year, the College of Education and Human Ecology, in collaboration with their Alumni Society Board of Governors, honors alumni who have made outstanding contributions in their chosen fields. The Meritorious Service Award recognizes individuals whose careers exemplify the college’s legacy of service and excellence. Nominees are selected between June and August, with honorees celebrated during the university’s Homecoming Weekend.
Kevin’s Legacy of Service
Kevin earned both his BS (’00) and MS (’01) in Family Resource Management from Ohio State. His commitment to service has extended well beyond his professional role as a Certified Financial Planner™ professional:
- He has been a passionate advocate for financial literacy, leading pro bono financial education seminars and supporting the university’s Consumer and Family Financial Services program.
- He has served as a mentor and adjunct faculty member, helping prepare the next generation of financial planners.
- He has dedicated over a decade to the EHE Alumni Society Board of Governors, including terms as president and treasurer, playing a pivotal role in securing CFP® Board approval for the college’s financial planning curriculum.
- Today, he continues to serve on both the Honors and Scholars Alumni Society Board and the Consumer and Family Financial Services Advisory Board.
Beyond his professional commitments, Kevin enjoys cheering on the Columbus Crew, hiking, performing in community theater and choir productions, and volunteering with A Kid Again and Central Ohio’s Programs for Animal Welfare.
A Well-Deserved Recognition
Kevin’s career has been defined by a genuine dedication to helping others, whether guiding clients toward financial peace of mind or giving back through mentorship, teaching, and service.
