Animal Cruelty Task Force of Ohio will be the week 18 recipient of a donation from the PDS CARES 30 Years, 30 Gifts program. ACT Ohio was nominated by PDS Client, Bonnie Gilligan.

ACT Ohio’s President & CEO, Steffen Baldwin, a former paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne states “Private Humane Societies in Ohio are left with the difficult, time consuming, and emotionally draining job of enforcing animal cruelty laws in their County. Although many urban areas are well funded with terrific teams, as you head out into the more rural parts of the state, things begin to change. In late 2013, I surveyed that 17 of the 27 Counties surrounding Union County have no ability to fund animal cruelty investigation services – that is almost 60%. The animals located in these counties have no voice, and the Animal Cruelty Taskforce of Ohio was formed to provide that voice, so if you know of an animal that has been neglected, abandoned or abused, call us and let our team help.

It is our goal to work with County Humane Societies and, in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code, equip, train and pay for competent Humane Agents who can properly enforce the laws in their County. Our home base is Union County, Ohio but are also currently contracted to run calls in Champaign, Marion, and Hardin Counties where we can provide them animal cruelty investigation services at no cost to the local shelter. We raise all of our funds through private donations and support from people like you!”

PDS CARES is pleased to support this organization and their efforts, not only in animal rescue, but also in their work with County Humane Societies in Ohio.
